Asians contribute to Canada’s population growth
Canada continues to accept newcomers because, without newcomers, Canada’s population would decrease drastically. As for the sources for newcomers, according to Statistics Canada, by 2036, Asian immigrants are expected to account for the main component of Canadian immigrants (58%), while European immigrants are expected to fall to 15%-18%. In other words, in another 16 years, a quarter of Canada’s population will be Asian immigrants. About one-third of all immigrants will come to Canada from India.
