On December 8, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated example 2 of the instructions on how to correctly calculate physical presence before becoming a permanent resident of Canada for individuals who received their status on or after October 11, 2017. New requirements for BC employers seeking foreign workers starts next week

Starting from December 15, 2020, BC employers who wish to hire foreign workers under the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) program will have to obtain the licence from the provincial government in addition to securing positive LMIA from Service Canada. This also includes employers wishing to hire caregivers under the Home Support Worker Pilot or the Home Child Care Provider Pilot. Alberta is releasing the last nominations of the year

On December 8, 2020, Alberta has updated statistics of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). Since November 24, Alberta issued only 6 nominations to foreign nationals allowing them to apply for permanent residence under the AINP. As of now, Alberta issued 3,988 nomination certificates and almost reached the self-established threshold of 4,000 nominations.
