International students call the government to make post-graduate work permits renewable
The Migrant Workers Alliance for Change (MWAC) with the support of various international student groups announced about organizing demonstrations in Toronto and Mississauga. The activists are calling the Federal government to make post-graduate work permits (PGWP) renewable so students can complete requirements for permanent residency (PR) in the COVID-19 job market and provide real access to PR by lowering points requirements to become a permanent resident. The current high unemployment caused by the COVID-19 creates a desperate situation for international students who may be unable to meet the requirements for various immigration programs.
