The School of Continuing Studies has approved the Duolingo test as an acceptable measure of an applicant’s level of English proficiency.
For CPE Programs:
Applicants to the following programs must achieve a score of 104 or higher on the DuoLingo test.
Post-Degree Certificate in Human Resources Management
Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting
Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Accounting
Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
Post-Graduate Certificate in Digital & Content Marketing
Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Relations
Applicants to the Post-Graduate Certificate in Backend & Blockchain Development must achieve a score of 115 or higher on the DuoLingo test.
Post-Graduate Certificate in Backend & Blockchain Development
Applicants interested in Duolingo for direct admission into one of the programs listed above should register directly on the Duolingo website (https://englishtest.duolingo.com/home) and share their scores with “York U” from the list of institutions.
For YUELI Programs:
For Applicants interested in taking YUELI programs if they haven’t taken any English proficiency test like IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo yet then those students can register for the YUELI’s Duolingo online placement test. Contact Precious Education to get more information about it.
Note: For students looking to take the Academic Program at YUELI, the cost of YUELI’s Duolingo online placement test is incorporated in the program cost, thus they are not required to pay separately for this test once they register for the Academic Program. Students interested in other programs delivered at YUELI can also opt for this test for a cost of CAD $80.
