A record number of Americans gave up their citizenship in 2020
Since March, the United States has deported more than 2,000 illegal immigrant children in just a few months. Regardless of the actual situation and whether they were separated from their parents, they sent these children directly back to Guatemala, Honduras and other countries. According to a research report by Bainbridge Accounting Firm in New York, in the first six months of 2020, the number of Americans who renounced American citizenship reached a record level of 5,816. According to the survey, nearly one-third of these expatriates chose Canada as their new home. They believe that Canada is more “humane” and more tolerant of refugees than the United States is.
