Canada added 185 post-secondary DLIs with COVID readiness plans

From December 2020 to January 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in cooperation with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) approved COVID readiness plans of additional designated learning institutions (DLIs). These colleges and universities are now allowed to accept international students from outside Canada. As of now, there are 446 DLIs out of 474 (excluding Quebec) that offer PGWP-eligible programs with approved COVID readiness plans:

  • Alberta – 58 DLI (+7)
  • British Columbia – 141 DLI (+60)
  • Manitoba – 21 DLI (+5)
  • New Brunswick – 17 DLI (+2)
  • Newfoundland and Labrador – 4 DLI (+1)
  • Nova Scotia – 25 DLI (+1)
  • Ontario – 163 DLI (+107)
  • Prince Edward Island – 5 DLI
  • Saskatchewan – 11 DLI (+2)
  • Yukon – 1 DLI

Almost all Canadian educational institutions can admit international students to pursue their education.
