Canada added several more post-secondary DLIs with COVID readiness plans

On November 17, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released an updated list of designated learning institutions (DLIs) with approved COVID readiness plans which can accept international students from outside Canada. As of now, there are 261 DLIs out of 474 (excluding Quebec) that offer PGWP-eligible programs with approved COVID readiness plans:

  • Alberta – 51 DLI (+3)
  • British Columbia – 81 DLI (+18)
  • Manitoba – 16 DLI
  • New Brunswick – 15 DLI
  • Newfoundland and Labrador – 3 DLI
  • Nova Scotia – 24 DLI (+1)
  • Ontario – 56 DLI (+29)
  • Prince Edward Island – 5 DLI
  • Saskatchewan – 9 DLI
  • Yukon – 1 DLI

We can expect that all educational institutions will soon be ready to admit international students and all students will be allowed to come to Canada to pursue their education.
