Canada admitted 385 immigrants in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot in 2020

During January-February 2020, 385 foreign workers immigrated to Canada through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). Most AIPP immigrants went to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Both provinces accepted 155 newcomers each (40.3% of the total). Newfoundland and Labrador welcomed 40 AIPP immigrants (10.4%). Finally, Prince Edward Island admitted 35 newcomers through the AIPP (9.1%). Last year, Canada admitted 4,145 new permanent residents in the AIPP in 2019. According to the new Immigration Levels Plan, IRCC plans to welcome 5,000 foreign nationals in 2020. Since the launch of the AIPP, Canada admitted about 6,025 immigrants to Canada.
