Canada announced the closure of International Experience Canada in 2020
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has officially announced that the 2020 season for the International Experience Canada (IEC) will be closed on Thursday, November 12, 2020. The popular program that allows hundreds of thousands of young foreigners to come to Canada and get a work permit, this year experienced a heavy impact of the COVID-19. In March 2020, IRCC postponed invitation rounds for all streams and participating countries. Only 40241 candidates in the IEC received Invitations to Apply for a work permit in 2020. After the season closure, IRCC will remove all profiles in the system. Candidates wishing to get a work permit in the IEC will have to create a new profile once the 2021 season will be opened.
