Canada announced the National Francophone Immigration Week 2020

On November 2, 2020, Marco Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, issued a statement regarding French-speaking immigrants. Mendicino emphasized the role of immigrants in general and francophones in particular in fueling Canada’s economy and enrich Canadian society. National Francophone Immigration Week helps to recognize the contribution of French-speaking newcomers and present the support available for them in Canada. Canada plans to reach 4.4% of French-speaking immigrants outside Quebec by 2023. To achieve this target, Mendicino introduced the bonus points for Francophones and bilingual candidates in Express Entry.
