Canada gradually resumes passport services

On July 31, 2020, the federal government announced the gradual resumption of passport services within Canada. During the COVID-19 quarantine, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) paused the issuance of passports which also created backlogs for many Canadians who ordered passports but could not receive it. Beginning July 31, it is again possible to apply for a passport by mail. In the case of the urgent need for passports (travelling in less than 30 days), it is possible to request in-person appointments.
