Canada has a backlog of 440,000 immigration applications

IRCC’s latest data showed that the number of approvals for Canadian immigration applications has dropped by about three-quarters in the months since Canada blocked entry and exit to control the pandemic. The data showed that in January, the immigration department had 403,750 cases pending, and by the end of August, the immigration department had 439,526 pending cases. Families are one of the most affected groups because their applications cannot be submitted online. The data shows that from March 15 to the end of August, only 163 family guarantee applications were submitted.
