Canada is the biggest resettlement country in the world
Almost 80 million people around the world required asylum in 2019. According to the UN, Canada has pushed the USA back and has emerged as the top country for resettling refugees. The resettlement to the United States has declined dramatically. Canada admitted 31,100 refugees for resettlement, while the USA admitted only 27,500. Australia welcomed 18,200 refugees.
