Canada issued 51,385 work permits in the TFWP in 2020
In the first half of 2020, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 51,385 work permits in the Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP). All TFWP work permits must be supported by positive or neutral Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Agricultural workers were issued 35,760 work permits. 470 work permits were issued to caregivers. Another 1,005 work permits were granted to live-in caregivers. Finally, 14,140 work permits were given to all other foreign workers with LMIA-based job offers.
