Canada to extend the validity of the LOI for IEC participants
On November 9, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that participants of the International Experience Canada program whose letter of introduction for a work permit is about to expire and who are unable to travel to Canada may be permitted to extend it for up to twelve months if they meet the eligibility requirements. Each decision on extensions will be made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the immigration officer. IRCC also provided specific instructions on possible extensions for participants from visa-required countries.
