CBSA did not know whereabouts of most of the deportees

The Auditor-General report reveals CBSA lost track of 34,700 people due to be deported. Auditor-General Karen Hogan criticized the low efficiency of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in enforcing removals of deportees. The report revealed that the CBSA failed to remove the majority of foreigners who were subject to enforceable removal orders to protect the integrity of the immigration system and maintain public safety. The audit also found that many cases of foreign nationals who have criminal records who were issued removal orders have been missing from the CBSA removal inventories.
