ESDC updated the average processing times for LMIA applications

On April 9, 2021, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has updated the processing times for the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications under various streams. Based on statistics from different processing centres, the current average LMIA processing times have slightly reduced for agricultural streams and high-wage stream, while for low-wage applications it has increased by one day compared to the previous update:

  • Global Talent Stream – 13 business days
  • Agricultural stream – 17 business days (4 days less)
  • Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program – 11 business days (3 days less)
  • Permanent residence stream – 21 business days
  • In-home caregivers – 15 business days
  • High-wage stream – 29 business days (3 days less)
  • Low-wage stream – 34 business days (1 day more)
