In July, Ontario nominated 882 foreign nationals
On August 13, 2020, the Ontario provincial government released a new update of the number of nominations certificates issued by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Since the last update on July 9, the OINP issued 882 new certificates of the provincial nomination. In total, Ontario issued 4,814 nominations in 2020. The provincial quota this year is 7,600 nominations. This means, the provincial government still can nominate 2,786 foreign nationals, including 250 nominations under the federal NOC C initiative. So far, Ontario welcomed 48,460 permanent residents in 2020, and 3,670 of them were nominated by the province.
