IRCC clarified the exemptions for family members of people under the Indian Act
On November 2, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released an update to the program delivery instructions related to the COVID-19 travel restrictions. IRCC clarified the exemptions for family members of people registered under the Indian Act and included them to the list of immediate and extended family members, allowed to travel to Canada. Earlier, the instructions mentioned Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents only. These updates are now aligned with the amended Orders in Council that came into force on November 1, 2020.
