IRCC has updated the email address for verification of status
On February 16, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that the department has changed the email address for verification of status. The IRCC.unspecifiedX-Xnonspecifie.IRCC@cic.gc.ca email has been replaced by IRCC.VOS-VDS.IRCC@cic.gc.ca. Individuals who wish to obtain a verification of status (VOS) to link their previous and new names or gender identifiers can apply to IRCC, provide their personal information and pay the $30 fee. IRCC is supposed to process requests within 10 business days from receiving the email.
