IRCC implemented Special processing measures for persons suffered from floods in BC

On December 24, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released the new program delivery instructions regarding temporary special measures aimed at helping Canadian permanent and temporary residents who were directly affected by the emergency situation resulting from the 2021 floods in British Columbia. For instance, visitors, international students, and foreign workers will be exempt from paying fees for extension or restoration of temporary resident (TR) status and exemptions from the requirement to seek restoration of TR status within 90 days. As for permanent residents and citizens, they are exempt from paying fees for the replacement of the lost, damaged or inaccessible documents issued by IRCC.
