IRCC released new instructions for the Parents and Grandparents program
On November 5, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released new instructions for officers who are managing the process in the Parents and Grandparents Program. IRCC will issue more invitations to apply than the annual cap since not all invited will submit the full application. A maximum of 10,000 sponsorship applications will be accepted. Sponsors will have 60 days once they receive an invitation to apply letter to submit their sponsorship application and permanent residence application package. Applications will be processed based on the first-in, first-out principle.
