IRCC to relax some RNIP requirements

On December 14, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced some changes in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). According to the new eligibility criteria, candidates can demonstrate cumulative work experience of 1,560 hours in the 3 years prior to application submission. Earlier, IRCC required candidates to have continuous work experience of 1 year to be eligible. The new criteria are applied to all current applications as well as to future applications. Such measures also allow candidates who have been temporarily laid off due to pandemics to keep their eligibility for RNIP.
