Quebec introduced new eligible occupations for work permits issued under the LMIA
Employers in Quebec may now use the simplified process to recruit temporary foreign workers for open positions, which has been made easier by broadening the list of jobs that qualify. As of May 24, 2022, the latest list includes 287 labour market impact assessment-enabled occupations, up from the 222 occupations recognized as of late February 2019. The list of occupations is updated annually by the Quebec Ministere de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Integration (MIFI). Eligible occupations include those classified in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) as having a high employment demand, as well as industries with shortages of labour.
