Quebec no longer requires CAQ to study French

On December 23, 2020, the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) of Quebec announced that foreign workers and asylum seekers residing in Quebec, as well as their spouses and dependent children, will no longer need a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) to attend French courses of the MIFI. In turn, this means those foreigners will not need to apply for study permits to study French. Such measures will relax the financial burden on foreign nationals in Quebec and improve their integration.
