The Government of Canada to spend $117M on special immigration measures for Ukrainian refugees

On March 10, 2022, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in a news conference that the Government planned to spend $117 million for special immigration measures to arrange the arrival of Ukrainians in Canada. In addition to that, the Government of Canada will provide more humanitarian aid to Ukraine in response to Russia’s invasion. Canada will also triple the amount of donation to the Canadian Red Cross’ Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal, increasing it from $10 million up to $30 million.
