Top-10 countries of the total PR admissions in February 2020
IRCC has provided the official data on the permanent residence admissions in February 2020. In February, Canada admitted 25,925 newcomers. A quarter of them originated from India – 6,525 (25.2% of the total). China was the second-largest country of origin of immigrants in February – 2,375 (9.2%). The third place was taken by the Philippines – 1,940 (7.5%). The other top ten countries of origin in February were: the USA – 900 immigrants (3.5%), Nigeria – 885 (3.4%), Pakistan – 865 (3.3%), Syria – 820 (3.2%), Iran – 520 (2%), France – 490 (1.9%), and Brazil – 480 (1.9%).
