Will BC extend the Tech Pilot for one more year?
In June 2019, British Columbia extended the BC PNP Tech Pilot for another year. Immigration experts now wonder whether BC will extend it again. Some even voice that it is time to make it permanent as it really provides B.C. tech employers with the ability to recruit and retain international talent. In 2018, British Columbia invited 654 candidates via the Tech Pilot. Last year, BC PNP issued 1,534 invitations to Tech Pilot candidates. This year, the province already invited 1,054 foreign nationals in the program. In total, BC invited 3,242 candidates since the launch of the Tech Pilot.
