Winnipeg accepted the first Federal charter flight for Ukrainians

On May 23, 2022, the Government of Canada announced the arrival of the first Federal charter flight for Ukrainians. The charter flight carrying 328 Ukrainian nationals arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Ukrainians were welcomed by Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister, Heather Stefanson, Manitoba Premier, and the volunteers of the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. The next federal charter flights are scheduled to arrive from Poland on May 29, in Montreal, and on June 2, in Halifax. These flights are the travel support initiative of the Government of Canada and the Ukraine2Canada Travel Fund.
